I've long enjoyed making voices and telling stories. When I worked retail, I would dazzle customers with story after story, and kept the good ones for sales pitches.
I became used to using my voice to convince people to buy things. That has made me acutely suited for voiceovers for my clients, since they need listeners to buy in too.
